Middle and High School Winter Concert

On December 11, ISG Jubail hosted the middle school and high school winter concert.

The  Grade 7 and 8 bands played a range of repertoire that included sounds of the Middle East, popular songs and holiday music.

Grade 7 band performed three selections that showcased their learning over the first semester, and displayed notable growth with more independent parts and more complex music notation.

Students performed an exciting opening song, “Camel Train”, which used Middle Eastern harmonies, and a closing with holiday flair.

The Grade 8 band performed four selections showing their increased musical independence. A variety of styles were performed including an exciting opener, a slower tempo song in the style of a chorale and a song featuring the sounds of Egypt.

After the Grade 8 band performed, they were joined by the Grade 7 band to perform Feliz Navidad, which was appreciated by the many Spanish speakers in the audience.

The Grade 9 and 10 band students combined to perform four selections. They performed songs from the movies, a slower tempo song, an exciting song depicting a ride through a dark forest and ended the concert with Jingle Bell Rock.

Congratulations to all our musicians on a successful show.  We would like to express our appreciation and gratitude to our ISG Jubail middle school and high school music teacher Ms. Kris Hammer for all her efforts with our students this term, and her continuous dedication to the music program.
