On May 13, the ISG Jubail Band Concert brought together students from grades 6 through 10 for an evening of expressive performance and shared musical achievement. With a thoughtfully selected repertoire, each ensemble demonstrated growing confidence and musical maturity.
Grade 6 opened the concert with pieces like Enchantment and Fanfare Supernova, exploring expressive phrasing, rhythmic clarity and dynamic control. Grade 7 performed The Tempest and A Prehistoric Suite, navigating dramatic contrasts and storytelling through music.
Grade 8 impressed with Contredanse, Shockwave and The Batman Theme, showing control across shifting tempos and textures. Grade 9 and 10 students performed Jungle Dance, Highlights from The Little Mermaid and Avengers: Endgame, supported by grade 11 SAIKAC musicians. Their program required precision, stamina and expressive versatility.
Grade 10 students were honored by Mrs. Kris Hammer with roses and a special slideshow featuring photos of them as young musicians and now as high schoolers. During the concert, Mrs. Hammer spoke about each student’s talents, contributions to the school community and the qualities that make them unique musicians. This heartfelt tribute served as a farewell gesture, marking their final performance as band students at ISG Jubail.
“I feel really proud of my classmates. Everyone performed really well, and as a band student I feel like I’m gaining so much experience,” said a grade 10 student.
The evening concluded with Majestica, performed by a mass band that included faculty, alumni and all band students. This powerful collaboration honored the community’s shared connection through music and the joy of performing together.
Earlier in the day, students also performed for their peers, allowing members of the school community who couldn’t attend in the evening to experience the joy of the performance. It was a warm and inclusive way to share the music beyond the concert hall.
Thank you to Mrs. Kris Hammer, whose dedication and leadership were clearly reflected in the success of the concert. We also extend our sincere appreciation to the ISG Jubail administration, staff, teachers and families for their invaluable support in bringing this event to life.
