Off to Senior School! Year 6 Leavers Celebration Ceremony at BSD

The Year 6 Leavers Ceremony was a heartfelt and joyful celebration, marking a significant milestone as students prepare to move on to senior school. It brought together students, parents, teachers and administrative staff to reflect on the journey and achievements of the Year 6 class at British School Dhahran.
The event opened with warm and inspiring speeches from BSD Principal, Mr. David Bolton, BSD Assistant Principal for Senior School Mrs. Rachel Cannon, Assistant Principal for Primary School, Mrs. Dufney Botha and Year 6 teacher and Head of Key Stage 2, Mr. Ewoud Botha. Their words of encouragement and pride set a meaningful tone for the ceremony.
Throughout the celebration, students shared musical performances and songs, adding a vibrant and personal touch to the occasion. Each student was individually recognized as they were called up to receive their certificate, along with a brief reflection on their personality and their time at BSD Primary School.
Awards were presented to students for excellence across various subjects, including Art, Arabic,and Design. In addition, students were honoured with the ISG Compassion Act Award, recognizing those who consistently demonstrated kindness, empathy and the school’s core values throughout the year.
The ceremony also included special acknowledgements for teachers and administrative staff who played a vital role in supporting the students on their journey.
