PROFESSIONAL LEARNING
ISG is a learning organization at its core, committed to the continued growth and development of all. Our commitment to professional learning (PL) ensures our educators are well-equipped to meet the evolving needs of today’s learners as well as they are also empowered to innovate, collaborate and lead. Support staff learning is essential as well to create the best learning environment for our students day-to-day.
Effective professional learning should be relevant, purpose-driven, engaging, digestible, adaptable, accessible, actionable and ongoing. ISG has built these attributes into our adult learning cycle through:
- A dynamic cycle of improvement, our teachers engage in ongoing learning that fosters reflective practice on relevant and current best practices aligned with the school’s purpose and elevates instructional impact.
- A Minimum Day structure, purposefully designed for ongoing professional learning, allows faculty to engage deeply with current best practices, refine their approaches and strategies and work collaboratively within curriculum learning committees to enhance student-centered learning in engaging and digestible experiences.
- Sustainable teacher learning opportunities that support both new and experienced educators in developing their competencies in actionable ways and adapting to the demands of 21st-century classrooms.
By building a culture of lifelong learning, innovation and excellence are not just goals, but become habits in our learning environment.
ISG also supports this journey through creating wellbeing opportunities to ensure staff feel cared for, strive for balance in their roles, and participate in classes that provide resources for managing wellbeing. This support is the vital work of our human resource and government compliance department. We know that when teachers thrive, students do too.
Professional learning is one of the key levers for improving student success. At ISG, we believe that exceptional teaching is the foundation of exceptional student achievement. Effective PL provides educators with the support and resources they need to grow professionally, improve teaching practices and ultimately enhance student learning outcomes. Investing in high-quality professional development is an investment in the future of education.
BLOCKED SOCIAL MEDIA SITES AT ISG
After thoughtful discussions with our schoolwide leadership , ISG has determined that blocking several websites across our network is in the best interest of our students, academically and for their wellbeing. This change, which will take effect this week, reflects our ongoing commitment to maintaining a safe, focused and productive digital learning environment for all students and staff.
The following platforms will be blocked as part of this update:
- Snapchat
- TikTok
- Discord
- Twitch
- Telegram
- Steam
- All VPN services
This list is subject to being updated as the need arises. We understand that there may be educational needs for accessing certain sites. To support this, our Operations team is currently developing a formal request process that will allow staff to submit site access requests for review.
Thank you for your support as we continue working to create a digital environment that prioritizes learning, wellbeing and student success.
ELEMENTARY AND PRIMARY CURRICULUM GUIDES
We are proud to share our updated Elementary and Primary Curriculum Guides—a valuable resource that outlines what students learn at each grade level across our schools.
These guides reflect our commitment to high-quality, student-centered learning and serve as an important tool for families and staff alike. By providing clear, consistent curriculum overviews, we strengthen alignment between our schools and highlight the depth and progression of our academic programs.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to our Teaching and Learning Office and school curriculum committees and teachers for their leadership in developing these comprehensive guides. Families can explore the curriculum by visiting their school websites or accessing the ISG Parent Hub under Academic Resources.

ASD & BSD STUDENTS TAKE DELF EXAMS
For the second year in a row, from April 13–16, 2025, ISG hosted the DELF Junior exams—internationally recognized French language certifications awarded by the French Ministry of Education, in partnership with Alliance Française.
A total of 38 students from ASD and BSD took the A1 and A2 level exams, while two students reached the milestone of attempting the advanced B1 and B2 levels for the first time.
The Diplôme d'Études en Langue Française (DELF) is a globally recognized credential that assesses students’ reading, writing, listening and speaking skills.
These achievements reflect the students' dedication and growth, as well as the impactful support of their teachers and the strength of ISG’s language programs.
Passing the DELF A2 marks a significant milestone in a learner’s language journey and opens doors to further educational and cultural opportunities.
ISG MATH COUNTS COMPETITION
On April 19, 36 talented mathletes from ASD, ISG Dammam and ISG Jubail, faced off in a challenging MathCounts chapter competition. It was a celebration of mathematical creativity, collaboration and critical thinking.
Highlights of the competition can be found in each school’s article in the school updates below.
TWO CHILDREN’S BOOK AUTHORS VISIT ISG
We were fortunate to have two children’s book authors, Ali Sparkes and Siobahn McDermott, visit our campuses this week.
They shared their stories, answered questions and inspired students with their love for writing. It was a great chance for students to meet real authors and learn more about books and storytelling.
