BSD-ISG-Year 13-Graduation

The British School Dhahran Year 13 Graduation Ceremony was a truly special event that marked the end of an important chapter in the lives of our senior students. It was a heartfelt celebration of their school journey and the exciting future that lies ahead.

This year, 45 graduates took the stage to celebrate their achievements and the years they spent learning and building lasting memories at BSD. The ceremony began with a warm introduction from Mrs. Rachel Cannon, our senior school assistant principal. She set the tone for the event with a thoughtful reflection on how far our students have come. This was followed by welcome remarks from our guest speaker, Mrs. Rhonda Norris, ISG superintendent, who shared inspiring words about growth.

Mr. Tobias Haslam, head of sixth form, led the much-anticipated presentation of the graduates. Each student had their moment to shine, walking down the red carpet as their name was called out along with a brief reflection on their time at BSD and what is coming next. It was moving to hear about the different paths they are about to embark on, from engineering and medicine to science and more, with universities waiting for them across the world.

As part of the celebration, a number of awards were presented to students in recognition of their outstanding performance, consistent attendance, strong commitment, active participation, and their embodiment of the ISG learner profile. These awards highlighted the diverse strengths and contributions of the graduating class and honored the values BSD encourages in every learner.

Mr. David Bolton, BSD’s School Principal, delivered a powerful and heartfelt message not only to the students, but also to the parents, teachers, and staff. He made sure to recognize the effort, dedication, and teamwork that went into making this event so meaningful. His words truly resonated with everyone.

One of the highlights of the ceremony was when students shared personal memories and special moments from their time at BSD. It was a beautiful reminder of the friendships and experiences that shaped their journey. A standout moment came from one student who gave an amazing performance of Chopin’s Etude Op.10 No.12 in C minor, the Revolutionary Etude. The performance was simply breathtaking and added a magical touch to the evening.

It was a day that reflected the spirit of BSD, celebrating achievement, growth and the values that shape our community. This milestone was not just the end of a school journey, but a powerful reminder of BSD’s mission to inspire lifelong learning, global citizenship and personal excellence in every student.
