Student Leadership at BSD

Student Voice
Student Voice is a weekly meeting chaired by four head students from Years 11-12 respectively. Prospective head students are encouraged to apply for the position, and then the representatives are chosen by senior staff members for their ability to be positive role models for their peers. Class representatives are elected democratically by each form class.
Student Voice meetings are designed to find solutions to issues raised by fellow students. By utilising their organisational and problem solving skills, alongside demonstrating leadership, the Student Voice representatives are tasked with chairing meetings, organising school social and charitable events.
House Captains
British School Dhahran operates a house system commencing from Primary School. Events and competitions are organised by selected house captains.

CYM Ambassadors
Key Stage 4 and 5 students are part of a new mentoring initiative, ‘Change Your Mind’, where students are trained to deliver workshops to our younger members of the community.
Change Your Mind is an organisation based in the UK that trains students leadership and personal, social, health and economic education skills.
Volunteering
Students may join mentoring and peer tutoring initiatives held at lunchtime or after school. They may also volunteer in the Primary School and the Best Buddies after school activity.
