ASD Athletics and Activities
ASD Athletics

We encourage all our students to participate in the athletic program at American School Dhahran.

Elementary students practice different sports during their P.E. classes and can try out for teams when they reach middle school.

In our athletics program, we have teams to represent boys and girls in different sports and age groups starting from Under 14 to Under 19.  Practice usually runs after school hours, two-three times a week.

ISG Jamborees, SAIKAC tournaments, or international tournaments and fixtures run throughout the year.  In these tournaments, ASD plays against other ISG schools and schools from around the Kingdom.

We are very proud of our teams that continually win medals and trophies on a national and international level.  We celebrate their achievements at the end of the year with a division-wide Sports Awards event.

At ASD, we offer our students a well-rounded, balanced learning experience that contributes to their personal, social, physical, moral and emotional development.

Through our After School Activities program, students can try new activities, explore a variety of interests, develop new skills and make new friends.

Elementary School Activities

Our students anticipate several annual events at ASD: The Walkathon, Saudi National Day, International Day, Spirit Week, Spring Fair, Movie Night and the Talent Show.

After School Activities run throughout the year and include activities in sports, arts, games, robotics and programming, languages and wellbeing.

Middle School Activities

In middle school, students are offered various after school activities to choose from that cover a range of interests: art, cooking, ..

Middle schoolers participate in school wide events like Saudi National Day, International Day, Walkathon, and Week without Walls. During WOW, they may choose to travel and participate in the community service project or stay and participate in activities on campus.

High School students develop new skills and participate in leadership opportunities in our After School Activities program.  These include Best Buddies, National Honor Society, Compassion Club and Compassion Summit.

Week without Walls (WOW) is an anticipated time at ASD where high school students sign up for international trips that offer cultural and social experiences, with a community service project planned with every trip.
