ISG Internship Program Guide
ISG’s internship program is offered to current university attending students in their 3rd or 4th year of their undergraduate bachelor's degree. This program provides hands-on experience in a diverse educational setting, equipping interns with practical skills, cultural competence, and an understanding of operational functions in an international school system. The program focuses on professional growth through mentorship and active participation in various departmental functions and processes.


Objectives and Goals
- Develop professional competence in a specified area aligned with the intern’s university program.
- Enhance cultural competence to foster understanding and adaptability in working with diverse cultural backgrounds and multilingual communities.
- Build collaborative skills through teamwork and active participation in planning, problem solving, and task completion working with other members of the department/team.
Support personal growth by building confidence, resilience, adaptability, and communication skills in a dynamic professional environment.

Eligibility and Criteria
- Student is currently enrolled in an undergraduate bachelor's program at a recognized university in the Eastern Province
- Student has completed a minimum of two years of their undergraduate degree
- Eligible students will be able to enroll in the program for a minimum of 4 weeks and a maximum internship length of 16 weeks based on the dates below:
- Based on the academic year beginning in August and ending in June, the two cohort start dates are:
- September of each year (i.e. Sept - Dec)
- February of the following year (i.e. Feb - May)
Enrollment and Schedule

Students who apply will be offered an opportunity to join the intern cohort program at ISG in either September or February of that academic year.
University Endorsement
To be eligible for the program, the student must submit a letter of recommendation from their university.
Student Schedule
Interns will work the same hours as regular staff from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with lunch break from 11:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Depending on the department needs, lunch break is flexible and can be adjusted.
The total number of expected working hours per day during the internship is: 7.5 hours excluding lunch break.

Based on the degree students are completing, internships at ISG may be offered in the following departments:
- Finance
- Human Resources
- Teaching and Learning
- Operations and Facilities
- Information Technology (IT)
- Other departments to consider
Student Responsibilities
Intern responsibilities will be determined by the department that the student is joining based on the needs of the department. More details on the responsibilities will be shared at the time of internship application given the area the intern is applying for.

Students will develop several skills through ISG’s internship program including:

- Leadership and initiative
- Global awareness
- Organizational and time management skills
Performance Tracking
Student performance will be monitored and tracked using THIS intern evaluation form. This will be completed by the department supervisor/director and will be completed mid way through the program and at program completion.
