ASD Boys Win Bronze in NESAC U19 Football Tournament

Congratulations to the ASD Scorpions for winning bronze in the 2024 NESAC U19 football tournament, which took place in Doha, Qatar, on Thursday, February 14-18.

Seven schools participated in this year’s tournament: American School Dhahran, American School Kuwait, American International School Kuwait, Qatar Academy, American International School Abu Dhabi, American Community School Beirut and International College Beirut.

The NESAC tournament was a tough three-day competition. The whole squad were phenomenal both on and off the field throughout the tournament, and they more than justified their bronze medal achievement. They missed out on the championship game by only one point but the players picked themselves up and turned in their best performance of the weekend, coming from behind twice to secure a 3-2 victory.

While our varsity boys came in third place, our varsity girls football team came in fifth. We’re very proud of our athletes who never fail to approach every challenge with determination and enthusiasm, and their attitude toward sports and sportsmanship make us proud every year.

Congratulations to all our athletes and their coaches Sarah McAulay, Chona Panuela and Nourhan Arnaoot for a wonderful season. Congratulations also to two of our players for being named as ALL NESAC players.

Go Scorpions!
