On Wednesday and Thursday, January 24-25, ASD middle school students in the Drama 1: Creating Character and Improvisation classes practiced foundation drama skills through monologues, short scenes and different improvised drama games.
They demonstrated skills such as annunciation and projection, risk taking, building authentic characters and scene building.
These beginners took the stage for the first time to share a sample of their work with an intimate audience of parents and peers, and it was great to see our students express themselves and develop their confidence and creativity through their acting. They are now eligible to continue these studies next semester in middle school Drama 2: Production and Performance.
Thanks to Mrs. Rachael Childress, ASD’s middle school drama teacher, for all her work with our budding performers.
