Students from across the International Schools Group (ISG) showcased their ingenuity and collaborative spirit at the FIRST LEGO League (FLL) Robotics Competition held at Dhahran Aramco School. Nineteen teams from the region joined the ISG contingent for a day brimming with engaging challenges and spirited competition.
The young engineers and programmers put their problem-solving abilities to the test, maneuvering robots they designed and built through intricate obstacle courses. The atmosphere was electric as students cheered on their teammates and celebrated successes.
A standout achievement of the day was the second-place finish of American School Dhahran in the high school division. This accomplishment was particularly noteworthy as many members of the ASD team were participating in the robotics competition for the first time, demonstrating their quick learning and adaptability.
Beyond the formal competition, the event offered vibrant activities designed to spark further interest in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). Attendees enjoyed captivating robot demonstrations, participated in hands-on STEM challenges. The event served as a true celebration of teamwork, creative thinking, and technological innovation.
ASD proudly recognizes the dedication, innovation and creativity displayed by all its participating teams. Their passion for robotics and their commitment to representing their schools were evident throughout the day. We look forward to witnessing the future achievements of these promising young innovators.
Looking ahead, student robotics teams from American School Dhahran, British School Dhahran, ISG Dammam and ISG Jubail will reunite for the ISG LEGO League Robotics Jamboree on Saturday, May 17. The event will feature a day of STEM-focused challenges designed to promote innovation, teamwork and problem-solving across ISG schools.
