This week, our middle school students embarked on an innovative project that combined creativity with historical learning. Tasked with creating their own board games focused on the Great Depression, the students put in great effort to design engaging and educational games that captured key aspects of this pivotal period in history.
To make the experience even more interactive, grade 4 and 5 students were invited to play the games and provide feedback to the middle schoolers on how they could improve their designs. This collaboration not only allowed the younger students to learn about the Great Depression in a fun and hands-on way but also gave them the opportunity to share their thoughts on game mechanics and creativity.
The project was a great example of how our American School Dhahran promotes learning through innovation, encouraging students to work together, think critically and apply their knowledge in real-world scenarios. It was also a wonderful opportunity for students from different grades to connect, share ideas and learn from each other.
