ASD Students Apply Chemistry Concepts in Hands-On Hydration Experiment

American School Dhahran students reinforced their understanding of mole calculations in chemistry through a hands-on experiment titled "Water of Hydration."

Using hydrated magnesium sulfate, students heated the substance to a constant mass, ensuring the complete removal of water of crystallization. Throughout the experiment, students applied key laboratory techniques, including repeated heating and cooling of the crucible, to obtain reliable and accurate results.

By performing the necessary calculations, the students successfully determined the number of moles of water associated with the hydrated compound.

The activity provided an engaging and educational experience, effectively reinforcing theoretical concepts through practical application. Students demonstrated enthusiasm and a strong grasp of the material, making the session rewarding for all involved.
