BSD KS2 Mental Health House Event: Spreading Gratitude, Kindness and Wellbeing
SHARE
At British School Dhahran, supporting our students’ mental health and wellbeing is a core part of our educational journey. Our recent KS2 Mental Health House Event was a heartwarming opportunity for students to celebrate the power of gratitude, kindness, and connection within their house communities. The event aimed to inspire positive thinking, encourage peer support and remind students how small acts of kindness can create a big impact.
Each house participated in creating a vibrant Gratitude Board, where students expressed what they are thankful for through thoughtful messages, drawings and uplifting phrases. These creative contributions not only reflected students' appreciation but also served to inspire their peers. To make it even more engaging, houses competed for points based on the creativity and inspiration of their submissions, building a friendly and positive spirit of teamwork.
Another highlight of the event was the creation of a Kindness Chain, where students wrote inspiring wellbeing captions on colorful paper links. As each link was added, the chains grew longer, symbolizing how kindness and positive actions connect us all. These chains, made in each house’s color, were a visual reminder of how individual efforts contribute to a stronger, more compassionate school community.
Through activities like these, BSD continues to nurture a school environment where mental health is valued, kindness is encouraged and every student feels connected and supported.
