BSD Seniors Musical

This week, BSD senior students and ASD middle and high school students performed the musical, "Seussical Jr., A Fantastical Musical Extravaganza” from Tony-winners, Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty (MTI).

Students captivated the audience with their vibrant and energetic performances.  As they brought Dr. Suess’s whimsical characters to life on stage, they showcased their talent and creativity and filled the atmosphere with joy.

The students’ dedication, enthusiasm and commitment to embodying the spirit of the beloved characters shone through their musical numbers as they performed for the community in several matinee performances for primary, key stage 3 and 4 students and elementary and middle school students from BSD and ASD.

Participating in musical performances enhances students’ creative expression and fosters a deep appreciation for the arts. It also provides students with a platform to develop and showcase their musical talents, boosting their confidence and self-esteem.

At BSD, we believe such activities contribute to developing team work, cognitive abilities, memory, concentration and problem-solving skills.  Learning and performing in musicals requires discipline and practice and develops a strong work ethic.  Ultimately, our students gain a well-rounded education by nurturing emotional intelligence and providing a means for self-expression.

We would like to congratulate our students on their outstanding performance and thank our teachers: Director, Mrs. Katherine Ham (ASD); Assistant Director, Ms. Rachael Childress (ASD) and Musical Director, Mr. Simon Horsey (BSD) for their efforts and commitment to our music and performing arts program.
