At BSD, building positive friendships is an important part of student wellbeing. To help younger students understand what makes a good friendship, older students led a special session in class. They explained that good friendships are based on trust, kindness and respect. Through questions and discussions, younger students shared their own ideas about friendship and learned how to build strong, supportive relationships. British School Dhahran promotes compassion by encouraging students to care for one another and create meaningful connections.
The session also focused on recognizing healthy and unhealthy friendships. Older students gave examples of positive behaviors, such as supporting each other and being honest, as well as warning signs like exclusion, dishonesty or disrespect. They also talked about setting boundaries and making choices that protect their feelings and wellbeing. By using real-life situations, they helped younger students feel more confident in managing their friendships.
This interactive session allowed younger students to ask questions and get advice from their older peers. They learned how to handle conflicts, express their feelings and make good decisions about their friendships. Through activities like this, BSD continues to promote kindness, understanding and positive connections among students, creating a welcoming and supportive school environment.
