Elementary School Celebration of Science

Elementary school students recently completed a life cycles unit in their science classes.

In small groups, they examined the life cycles of different plants and animals, including mosquitos, bees, frogs and plants. Students created a diorama of the life cycle and presented their findings to their peers and teachers.

Visitors were able to learn about each part of the life cycle from the students who had researched in books, videos and through hands-on research of the assigned topics. Students shared their prepared presentation, each student in the group taking a part of the life cycle to describe in detail.

Opportunities to learn about a subject and teach it to their peers is instrumental to ensuring that learning isn’t simply surface deep, but that it creates a lasting impact in their educational journey.

We are grateful for supportive teachers and staff who helped students create and share their learning in such influential ways.
