Elementary students recently reached an exciting milestone in their writing journey by hosting a publishing party to celebrate the completion of their informational writing unit. Each student had the opportunity to select their own topic, a choice that sparked their creativity and encouraged a sense of ownership over their work.
Throughout the unit, students engaged in various stages of writing, including researching, reading for information and paraphrasing key facts in their own words. These essential skills are crucial for developing strong, independent writers and it was inspiring to see our students apply them with such enthusiasm and dedication.
The Publishing Party was a joyous occasion, with families in attendance to witness their children's hard work and growth. It was a proud moment for both the students and teachers, as we celebrated the finished pieces and the growth in skills, confidence and creativity that occurred along the way.
We are incredibly proud of our students' achievements and can't wait to see how they continue to evolve as writers in the future!
