ISG Dammam Participates in District-Wide Math Competition

On Saturday, January 20, ISG Dammam high school students participated in the ISG District Math Competition held at ISG Jubail.

Eight students from grades 9-12 were selected to attend the competition and were accompanied by high school math teacher, Ms. Maheshwari Srinivasan.

This event was an opportunity for students to engage with mathematical concepts in a competitive yet enriching environment.

The competition consisted of three segments:
1. UKMT (United Kingdom Mathematics Trust) Individual Test: This segment showcased individual problem-solving skills and mathematical acumen. 
2. Group Investigation: This team-based segment allowed students to collaborate on tackling complex mathematical problems. 
3. Countdown Competition: A fast-paced and exciting challenge, this segment tested quick thinking and rapid problem-solving skills under time constraints.

To prepare for the competition, students used resources from the UK Maths Trust, more specifically, the Senior Mathematical Challenge and the Intermediate Mathematical Challenge.

The thrilling Countdown Competition culminated in a spectacular win for one senior student from ISG Dammam, who took the top spot with an outstanding performance.  
At ISG Dammam, we aim to foster a love and appreciation for mathematics. The day was filled with problem-solving, teamwork and fun, and our students showcased amazing talent and creativity.
