Social Studies Gallery Walk on Human Environment Interactions

Middle school students showcased their models and presentations on the impact of human activity on the environment, highlighting themes like deforestation, urbanization and desertification.

Through case studies, students examined how these environmental changes affect physical spaces, social dynamics, and human movement. They presented their findings to peers and visitors, explaining how these issues have shaped different cities around the world.

The students’ models vividly demonstrated the effects of urbanization, with intricate recreations of megacities, as well as before-and-after sections that illustrated the consequences of deforestation and desertification. Using visual aids, they deepened their understanding of these topics while helping others see how human actions can lead to both positive and negative outcomes.

During the gallery walk, students enthusiastically answered questions from visitors, showcasing their knowledge and excitement about the themes they had worked so hard to explore.
