In this presentation for parents, Sean Truman reviewed the latest trends in student experience and how students are faring regarding their functioning and mental health.
He identified factors to optimize the wellbeing of students and families. These observations and recommendations are garnered from his years of clinical and consulting work, focusing on international school communities worldwide.
Dr. Truman shared data from recent research and explored how these results translate into learning points, including specific ways that parents can directly support children to maintain an optimal sense of balance in their social and emotional lives. Dr. Truman also touched on the changing mental health landscape for young people, understanding the ongoing increase in anxiety and depression in youth, the impact of social media and technology use, factors that promote a student’s ability to develop and maintain resilience, and ways for students to build a greater sense of independence and confidence to navigate transitions effectively.
ISG Dammam's parents were grateful to learn from Dr. Truman’s expertise and commitment to the mental well-being of international school students.
