Job Description
The Substitute Teacher is primarily responsible for managing and delivering lessons according to the lesson plans in the absence of the regular teacher.
The successful candidate will be able to effectively:

Demonstrate commitment to the safety and security of children and young people (child protection)

Deliver lessons to students as outlined in lesson plans developed by the regular teachers

Maintain a safe learning environment for students at all times

Supervise students during lunch, break times, or assemblies (as needed)

Understand and execute the school emergency procedures, when required

Enforce classroom/school rules

Motivate students to learn and participate in the classroom during lessons

Model the school values at all times

Perform other duties as assigned by the teacher, Assistant Principal, or Principal
The ideal candidate will have:

Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study
The ideal candidate will have:
Experience

Previous experience working in a classroom

Experience with Google Suite and Microsoft Office
Skills

Excellent Command of English, both verbal and written

A demonstrated ability to instruct groups of students

Classroom management skills
-
Ability to handle a range of situations
