ASD Students Lead with Compassion and Innovation at ISG Conference

Students from American School Dhahran were at the forefront of the International Schools Group annual Compassion Conference, showcasing their impactful, student-led initiatives focused on promoting compassion within their school and the wider community. The event celebrated ISG's dedication to inspiring both innovation and compassionate action among its students.

The conference provided a valuable platform for ASD students to share their creative plans and the tangible results of their projects, all aimed at increasing compassion for oneself, others and the environment. Representing ASD's active Compassion Clubs, students connected with peers from other ISG schools, exchanging ideas and encouraging inspiration for future compassionate projects.

This year’s conference highlighted several student-led projects including:

  • ISG PenPal: A middle school student-led initiative connecting ISG’s elementary school students through letter writing to build friendships and cross-cultural understanding.
  • Caring Tales: Middle school students engaging younger learners through storytelling to instill empathy and kindness and expression.
  • Undergraduate Summit: A high school student-led conference empowering high school students to explore and address critical social responsibility issues.
  • Custodian Iftar: A high school student's effort demonstrating gratitude by organizing a special meal for the school's dedicated custodial staff during the month of Ramadan.
  • Beach Cleanup: High school students taking environmental leadership through active participation in local beach cleanup campaigns.
  • Operation Kindness: A middle school student-led initiative at ASD promoting intentional acts of kindness and encouraging positivity in our school and community.
  • Gratitude Tree: A middle school student project visually encouraging the expression of thankfulness and appreciation throughout the elementary school community.

The significant contributions of ASD students at the annual Compassion Conference highlights the school's commitment to developing leadership skills and supporting a strong culture of compassion within its student body.

By providing the right tools and guidance, ASD empowers its students to become proactive, innovative, and caring leaders who make a positive impact on their communities.
