SHARE
American School Dhahran proudly hosted the very first SANES Science Fair, a groundbreaking event that brought together young scientists from across the region. Students from Nada International School, BSD and ISG Dammam joined us on campus to present their original science projects to a distinguished panel of judges representing various universities and organizations across the Kingdom.
We are thrilled to share that the event made the front page of Arab News. The article highlights the vision and impact of this student-led initiative. You read the article from Arab News here by using the following link: Arab News Article.
We are pleased to share that first place was awarded to a student from BSD, while second and third place went to two students from ISG Dammam. Congratulations to all the finalists and to every participant who contributed to the success of this inaugural event!
SANES, which stands for SAN Engineering and Science, was founded by two of our own ASD high school students. Their vision: to create an innovative and inclusive platform that promotes equity and access in the scientific and engineering community within Saudi Arabia.
This student-led initiative encourages participation from both Saudi and international students, offering a unique hybrid format that allows project submissions online, widening accessibility followed by an in-person final round that fosters valuable dialogue, feedback and networking with expert judges.
Backed by a growing network of forward-thinking corporate and educational partners, SANES is already making a meaningful impact by opening doors for students across the Kingdom to explore, collaborate and innovate.
We extend our thanks to Mr. Will McConnell and Mr. Hans Ott for their guidance and support in helping our students bring this event to life. Their mentorship played a key role in making the SANES Science Fair a reality.
We are incredibly proud of our students for leading this initiative and look forward to seeing SANES continue to grow in the years to come.
