American School Dhahran Parent-Teacher Group (PTG) held its first meeting of the 2025–26 school year, marking the beginning of what promises to be a memorable academic year filled with community events and lasting connections.
Superintendent Rhonda Norris and Principal Brent Wingers welcomed returning and new families, sharing their excitement for the year ahead and emphasizing the vital role parent involvement plays in strengthening the ASD community.
A highlight of the meeting was a special visit from the AP Race Swimming Academy, where parents were introduced to the team and its programs. Olympic swimmer and three-time gold medalist Adam Peaty joined the session to share his inspiring journey, speak about the values of discipline and resilience and even gave attendees the opportunity to see and hold one of his Olympic gold medals.
The meeting continued with an overview of ASD’s after-school programs, led by high school physical education teacher Mr. Andrew Archibald. He emphasized the value of extracurricular engagement in students’ personal and academic growth and outlined the range of activities available this year.
To wrap up the session, PTG chair members introduced themselves to the parent community and shared their plans for the year, which include a variety of school events such as international day, gerge’an, winter festival and more, volunteer opportunities and ways for parents to get involved. Whether new or returning, all parents were encouraged to sign up and help make this school year one to remember.
We are excited to see what our PTG, students and families will achieve together in the coming months. Here is to a year of connection, creativity and community at ASD!
