ISG Dammam’s AP Art and Design Students Showcase a Year of Creative Exploration

This week, ISG Dammam proudly showcased the work of its AP Art and Design students, highlighting the creativity and artistic growth that have defined their work throughout the academic year.

The exhibition featured pieces from students' AP Drawing and 2D Design portfolios, each centered around a unique inquiry question developed at the beginning of the course. Throughout the year, students engaged in a sustained investigation of their chosen theme, exploring ideas through a series of connected works that evolved as their understanding deepened and their artistic voice became more refined.

The displayed artworks represent different stages of each student's creative journey. Rather than focusing solely on final products, the exhibition demonstrated the process of experimentation, reflection, revision, dedication and growth that is at the heart of the AP Art and Design program.

Students worked across a wide range of artistic media, including drawing, painting, mixed media, digital art and other 2D design approaches. Each medium was carefully selected to support the student's individual goals and help communicate the ideas they sought to explore. Throughout the portfolio process, students were encouraged to take creative risks, challenge themselves, experiment with different mediums and develop innovative ways of expressing their concepts.

For many students, the portfolio became more than an academic project. It served as a personal exploration of topics that held special meaning and significance in their lives. Through their sustained investigations, students examined experiences, perspectives and ideas that mattered to them while learning how visual art can communicate complex concepts in powerful and meaningful ways.

The exhibition was a celebration not only of artistic talent but also of the commitment, perseverance, risk-taking and critical thinking required to complete a year-long creative investigation.

We are incredibly proud of our AP Art and Design students and the thoughtful work they have produced. Their portfolios stand as a testament to the power of creativity, self-expression and the artistic process.
