Susan Jarnot-Benthem
Elementary and Middle School Principal, ASD
Susan brings more than 25 years of experience in education, having served as a teacher, instructional coach and school leader across the United States, South Korea and China. Most recently, she led the elementary division at Daystar Academy in Beijing, an IB continuum school, where she spent the past eight years supporting student growth through innovative, student-centered practices.
At the core of Susan’s leadership philosophy is a deep belief in the potential of every learner. She is committed to creating learning environments grounded in kindness, compassion and collaboration, where students feel safe to explore their interests, take risks and develop their individual strengths. She strongly values student voice, family partnership and professional collaboration as essential elements of a thriving school community.
Brent Wingers
High School Principal, ASD
Brent Wingers graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2007 with majors in history and secondary education. He began his international teaching career in Honduras while also completing his master’s degree in educational leadership through Framingham State University in Massachusetts.
In addition to Central America, Brent has taught and lived in Myanmar and Indonesia. With experience teaching middle and high school social studies, and after serving in a variety of coaching and leadership roles, he joined ISG in 2016 as a social studies educator and then became school principal. With over 15 years of experience in the international school community, Brent is eager to serve American School Dhahran in a leadership capacity. He is accompanied by his wife Caitlin, who is the elementary librarian, and their two young sons.
Jennifer Cypra
Assistant Principal for Elementary School, ASD
Jennifer brings more than 25 years of experience in education, including extensive work in international school settings. She began her career in the lower elementary grades before moving into upper elementary, where she spent many years teaching grade 5.
Jennifer holds a Master’s degree in Gifted Education, during which she worked with students across Grades K-5, designing enrichment opportunities that supported both academic growth and curiosity. This work sparked her passion for STEAM and inquiry-based learning, leading her into leadership roles as a Makerspace coordinator and academic leader.
Inspired by this collaborative work, Jennifer pursued a certificate in international education administration, further developing her capacity to lead learning communities with clarity, purpose and care. She is known as a thoughtful, relationship-centered leader who values innovation, teamwork and professional growth, always with student learning at the center.
Tracy Bosch
Assistant Principal for Middle School, ASD
Tracy Bosch is originally from Durban, South Africa. After qualifying at Edgewood College of Education (University of Kwazulu Natal), she began her teaching career in 1996, initially a grade 4 classroom teacher before becoming a K-8 technology specialist. Following her husband to Saudi Arabia in 2002, Tracy joined ISG as a third grade teacher at Dhahran Elementary Middle School.
During her 17 years at DEMS, Tracy has enjoyed a variety of roles, from elementary classroom teacher to K-8 Technology specialist. Most recently Tracy was the DEMS Technology Co-ordinator and Dean of Students. Tracy started her role as middle school assistant principal in August 2018.
Sonal Novick
Assistant Principal for High School, ASD
Sonal brings 17 years of international teaching experience and a deep commitment to instructional leadership to her new role as Assistant Principal at American School Dhahran, effective August 2026.
She has spent the last five years as the school’s Mathematics Department Head and is an active member of the School Improvement Leadership Team (SILT), contributing to key initiatives around learner agency, compassionate action, and academic growth.
Her teaching career has spanned six countries, including the United States, Kuwait, Syria, Hungary, South Korea, and Saudi Arabia. These experiences have shaped her inclusive and culturally responsive leadership style.
Dr. Daniel Dickens
Dean of Students, ASD
Daniel holds a Ph.D. in Instructional Leadership from the University of Alabama and a Master’s of Arts in Teaching from Lee University. Having spent 23 years in education, he has served as a middle school teacher, assistant principal and building principal. Across each role, his core commitment has been creating a culture where every student is known, supported and inspired to dream.
Daniel believes schools thrive when belonging comes first. He is passionate about building positive school culture by unifying classrooms, campus life and community under a set of shared pillars.
He has presented at conferences on school culture and leadership, and has conducted research focused on school culture and climate in the middle school environment.
