The exceptional talents of American School Dhahran's high school musicians were on full display this week during two well-received concerts held at the Canary Vista Event Hall. These performances highlighted the depth of the school's music program.
On Sunday evening, the Concert Choir took the audience on a musical journey through the decades, beginning with the timeless Beatles hit "Here Comes the Sun" and culminating in Laufey's contemporary piece, "From the Start." The Concert Band followed with a diverse program of six selections, notably featuring the iconic theme from "The Pink Panther" television and movie franchise.
Tuesday's concert showcased the versatility of the Vocal Ensemble with a four-song set that included Bruno Mars' popular "Talking to the Moon." The Jazz Band then captivated the audience with seven pieces, each featuring impressive solos by student musicians. A standout performance was their rendition of "Take 5," which included exceptional solos on the baritone saxophone and drums. This concert also provided an opportunity to recognize and celebrate the graduating senior music students for their significant contributions to the ASD music program and the school community throughout their time at American School Dhahran. The continued support and encouragement of Mr. Ned Fortescue has been instrumental in helping these students reach their full potential.
These concerts mark the close of another successful concert season for the ASD high school Music Program. The school community extends its congratulations to all the participating musicians and eagerly anticipates another year of musical excellence in the upcoming academic year. These performances highlight the high level of musical proficiency achieved by ASD students and the opportunities provided by the school's music program.
