Community and Conversation at ISG Jubail School Council Meeting

ISG Jubail recently welcomed parent members of the School Council Advisory Meeting that brought thoughtful conversation and connection to the forefront. Principal Sarah Dugan opened the meeting by expressing her appreciation to families for their participation in the MSA interviews and for the time and care they dedicated to the process.

The community was glad to welcome Dr. Jamie Martin, who will be joining ISG Jubail as principal next school year. After parents introduced themselves, Dr. Martin shared her educational background, career journey and personal stories, creating a warm and friendly atmosphere.

Mrs. Dugan shared school updates, including the value of student minimum days, which give teachers time for professional learning and collaboration. These days continue to support both new and experienced staff while strengthening the school’s learning environment.

Parents shared their hopes and ideas for the school’s future. There was strong interest in expanding IB course offerings and learning more about the program through future events. Families were eager to see students explore more options and contribute their own input into the IB experience.

The group discussed the importance of building community, with one idea gaining particular enthusiasm: a parent buddy system to welcome new families. Much like the student buddy program already in place, this idea was well received and supported by Mrs. Dugan.

Parents also expressed a desire to deepen Arabic language learning for students and shared their support for offering students a chance to provide feedback to teachers through respectful, thoughtful surveys.

Thank you to all the parents who attended and shared their ideas. The meeting reflected the spirit of partnership that defines ISG Jubail, with families and school leadership working together to support a caring, connected and forward-looking school community.
