Exploring Farming and Biodiversity at Al Subhi Farms

Elementary students recently visited Al Subhi Farms as part of their science units on animals, plants and biodiversity. The exciting, hands-on field trip gave them the opportunity to explore farming, gardening, animal care and sustainability, while reinforcing important values like collaboration, responsibility and open-mindedness.

At the farm, students interacted with a variety of animals, including goats, cows, ostriches and birds. Highlights included the bird show, where students fed and held birds, and the horse show, where horses galloped past them. Students also enjoyed planting seeds and harvesting cucumbers, feeling like real farmers as they connected with nature.

Here’s what students had to say about the experience:

- “We loved everything about the field trip.”
- “The bird center was so much fun!”
- “The horses were amazing, and we got to feed the birds!”
- “It felt like we were real farmers picking cucumbers.”
- “It was an awesome trip. We want to go back!”

This field trip not only brought our science curriculum to life but also deepened students' appreciation for the environment and sustainability. We are grateful for this hands-on learning experience and look forward to more adventures in the future!
