ISG Jubail’s Helping Hands: A Commitment to Compassion
SHARE
At the heart of ISG Jubail’s Compassion Club is the belief that kindness is not just a moment, but a movement. The Helping Hands Project was created to honor the power of giving and receiving help within our school community.
This student-led initiative invited middle and high school students to reflect on times they have been helped and consider how they could pay that kindness forward.
During advisory time, students pressed their hands into clay and wrote heartfelt notes about moments of compassion they had experienced and how they planned to extend that same kindness to others.
These clay hands and written notes became more than just mementos; they became stories, lessons and promises for a more compassionate tomorrow.
The collected hands from across grade levels were brought together to form a powerful mural, a growing tapestry of generosity and empathy. Using a refurbished board, the mural was designed as a permanent installation within the school, serving as a visual reminder of how each helping hand contributes to the whole.
Each hand tells a unique story, capturing moments of vulnerability and strength, woven together to inspire anyone who passes by. The mural doesn’t simply adorn a wall; it narrates a collective story of support, resilience and compassion that will echo in our halls for years to come.
Our goal is for this mural to grow with time, gradually filling with more hands and memories in the coming school years. It will serve as a tribute to those who help and are helped, while also calling us to continue building a school culture where helping one another is second nature.
These hands, these stories and these moments will remain on our walls as a lasting legacy of love and a symbol of what it means to be part of a truly compassionate Jaguar community.
Thank you to the Compassion Club, Mrs. Madiha Qamar and all the students and faculty who made this project possible.
