ISG Jubail Band Concert Celebrates Middle Eastern Harmonies and Holiday Melodies

On Monday, December 9, ISG Jubail Band students from Grades 7-10 presented their hard work during the annual Winter Concert, guided by Mrs. Hammer. In addition to an evening performance, they also performed for the middle and high school student body during the school day.

The Grade 7 band performed four selections, including Camel Caravan with its Middle Eastern harmonies and an exciting closing number, demonstrating their growth in learning independent parts and complex notation. The Grade 8 band presented four varied selections, including the Irish folk tune Danny Boy and a holiday-themed piece.

The Grade 9 and 10 bands combined for four performances, starting with Bazaar, inspired by Middle Eastern markets, followed by selections from The Lion King and Moscow, 1941, which became a favorite among students and audience members. The concert ended with Frosty the Snowman to ring in the winter break.

The concert celebrated the students' musical achievements and brought joy to the ISG community. It was a wonderful opportunity for students to share their progress, teamwork and passion for music with peers, teachers and families, creating lasting memories for all.
