Creativity and Confidence Light Up ISG Jubail’s Poetry Slam

ISG Jubail’s elementary classrooms came alive with warmth and creativity during the recent Sharing of Learning and Poetry Slam. Families were welcomed into a cozy, joy-filled space that reflected the growth and imagination of our students. The energy in the room was contagious, with smiles, laughter and heartfelt applause echoing from wall to wall.

Alongside Mrs. Jamie Fredenburg, Mrs. Catherine Gloria, Mrs. Oyun Ostrowski, and Mrs. Florinda Hurtado, our students and staff created an atmosphere of care and collaboration throughout the event. Families had a chance to experience firsthand the learning that had taken place over the semester. Students proudly shared their work, inviting loved ones into their classroom routines, their projects, and their progress. Every corner of the room reflected that same sense of dedication and teamwork.

The highlight of the day was the Poetry Slam, where each student took the stage to perform an original poem. Their voices stood out, some in humor, some in reflection and each poem revealed something personal and meaningful. With every line, students showed growth as writers and courage as speakers. It was clear they had learned much more than how to write a poem. They had learned to speak from the heart.

Many students shared how proud they felt to present their work. One student said, “I didn’t know I could write like that until I tried.” Another added, “I was nervous, but then I saw my mom smiling, and I felt brave.” Their words were simple but powerful, a reminder of the confidence that blooms when students are given the space to be heard.

Parents, teachers and classmates celebrated each performance with applause and wide grins. The support in the room was steady and sincere. It was a day that celebrated much more than academic achievement, it honored connection, expression and the unique voice each child carries.

We are incredibly proud of our elementary students. Their honesty and eagerness to learn made this day one to remember.
