This week, ISG Dammam middle school proudly recognized students who participated in this year's Million Word Challenge during a special certificate ceremony celebrating their dedication to reading.

Created and led by the middle school library, the challenge encouraged students to read 1,000,000 words over the course of the school year while carefully tracking their progress. The initiative inspired students to build consistent reading habits, explore new books and develop a lifelong love of reading.

More than 40 students participated in the challenge, collectively reading an astounding 24,908,595 words throughout the year. To keep students motivated and engaged, certificates were awarded at key milestones of 250,000 words, 500,000 words, 750,000 words and 1,000,000 words. Students received recognition for each benchmark they achieved, celebrating their progress every step of the way.

A particularly impressive accomplishment came from the 15 students who successfully completed the challenge by reading more than one million words each. Their commitment, perseverance and enthusiasm for reading reflect the strong culture of literacy that continues to thrive at ISG Dammam.

The Million Word Challenge demonstrates the power of setting ambitious goals and working steadily toward them. Through their efforts, participating students not only expanded their knowledge and vocabulary but also discovered the joy that reading can bring.

A special thank you goes to Mrs. Betsey Hawkins for creating and leading this wonderful initiative. Her dedication to promoting literacy and encouraging students to challenge themselves has made a lasting impact on our school community.

Congratulations to all of our readers on this remarkable achievement. We look forward to seeing even more students take on the challenge in the years ahead.
