Growing Together on the Court: ISG Dammam at the U14 Volleyball Jamboree
SHARE
For ISG Dammam's U14 boys' and girls' volleyball teams, the Jamboree offered an opportunity to meet players from other ISG schools, experience new competition and continue developing their skills on the court. Each match brought its own challenges and learning opportunities, giving the players valuable experience as they continued growing as young athletes.
Beyond the competition, the experience highlighted the importance of teamwork and the relationships players build along the way. Communication remained an important area of development, with players learning to talk to one another, listen and work together throughout their matches. These skills are an essential part of volleyball and continue to shape how young players approach the game.
For the boys' team, encouragement played a particularly important role during the competition. The coach shared how the players were quick to cheer one another on, especially after mistakes or difficult points. Through high fives and positive words, they helped their teammates stay motivated and maintain a positive attitude. One student reflected on how much this support contributed to the experience, explaining that even when the team lost a match, they still enjoyed the day together.
The competition also provided opportunities for individual improvement. The coach noticed significant progress in the boys' serving as they began to understand the importance of consistency and how a successful serve could help them earn points. Their willingness to keep practising and improving throughout the competition reflected the value of learning through experience.
For both teams, the Jamboree was an opportunity to step onto the court, challenge themselves and enjoy playing alongside their teammates. Experiences like these help young athletes develop confidence, build connections with players from other schools and understand that growth comes through effort, encouragement and a shared commitment to improving.
As the U14 players return to their regular training sessions, they carry with them lessons that extend beyond volleyball. The friendships formed, support shared and skills developed will continue to contribute to their journeys as players and teammates.
