Have a great summer

Dear Parents,

It has been an honor to serve you over the past five years. I have had the privilege of working alongside some of the smartest and most dedicated individuals and meeting the nicest and most generous families. My time in Saudi Arabia has been truly enjoyable. As I retire and move back to the United States with my family, I wish you all the best. I will continue to provide bi-monthly updates during the summer until Ms. Rhonda Norris assumes her role on August 1st. As we approach summer, I wish you safe travels and hope you enjoy this time with your friends and family. God bless.

ISG was proud to have 257 graduates go out into the world this year. Congratulations to all our families. Please watch this short recap of the four graduation ceremonies we had this year.

  • Sara Village School celebrated the achievements of five Year 6 students who are leaving SVS and moving up to senior school. The ceremony included encouraging speeches from ISG Superintendent, Dr. Michael Mack, SVS Principal, Richard Charlesworth and BSD Principal, David Bolton. We are very proud of our students and are confident they will succeed in senior school and beyond. Congratulations to the SVS leavers!
  • On June 10, the Compassionate Action lead teachers and Ms. O’Toole invited the Sara Village School community to attend the Sara Village Empathy Museum. The museum was inspired by the traveling exhibit called 'A Mile in My Shoes'. It is a traveling "shoe shop" where visitors are invited to walk a mile in someone else’s shoes – literally. Housed in a giant shoebox, this roaming exhibit held a diverse collection of shoes and audio stories that explore our shared humanity. From a Syrian refugee to a politician, a war veteran to a neurosurgeon, visitors are invited to walk a mile in the shoes of a stranger while listening to their story. The stories cover different aspects of life, from loss and grief to hope and love and take the visitor on an empathetic as well as a physical journey. The SVS students worked hard in their Empathy lessons and during the Empathy Day that was celebrated earlier last week, and were eager to share their own stories as well as their thoughts and opinions about the world around them.

I would like to remind you that the first day of school for students will be Sunday, August 18, 2024.

Best wishes,

Michael P. Mack
