ISG Superintendent's Message

Dear ISG Community,

Our grade spotlight this week is on math in Grade 7 and Year 8 across ISG. Science is brought to life through engaging hands-on activities, fostering a dynamic learning environment. This progressive approach to teaching science allows students to actively explore concepts, encouraging deeper understanding and retention. I am pleased to announce that between April 21-25, renowned children's author, Ross Welford will visit our ISG Schools. Ross is well known to our upper elementary students with many of his books on the shelves in our library. His debut novel “Travelling with a Hamster” was shortlisted for major literary awards including the Waterstones Children’s Book Prize, The Costa Book Award and The Blue Peter Book Award. He will spend his time working with our students in writing workshops that nurture and develop students’ enthusiasm for reading and writing. There will also be an opportunity for students to purchase signed copies of his books.

I am excited to share that the ISG Board of Trustees has approved building a new gym on the Dhahran campus. This facility will improve our ability to schedule our structured PE lessons and athletic training sessions on campus. It will also allow us to host national athletic tournaments with additional basketball and volleyball courts, a running track and exercise equipment. ISG has contracted ControlTap for this 12-month-long project which is scheduled to start in the first week of April. We are looking forward to the opportunities this facility will open up for our students and schools.

On March 27, 2024, ISG commemorated the inaugural Saudi Green Initiative Day by participating in a lights-off event across our campuses for one hour. This day highlights Saudi Arabia's dedication to sustainable practices and environmental awareness, focusing on three key areas: reducing emissions, greening Saudi and protecting land and sea.
