Key Stage 1 Curriculum Overview

Sara Village School follows the National Curriculum for England and the majority of the teaching staff are British. However, as we have students from many other countries, there is a unique slant on teaching methods to encompass local customs and those of other nationalities.

The national curriculum provides students with an introduction to the essential knowledge that they need to be educated citizens. It introduces them to the best that has been thought and said and helps engender an appreciation of human creativity and achievement. Additionally, throughout this stage, students develop their agency through carefully crafted continuous provision stations throughout their classrooms, providing opportunities to learn and grow in ways that are meaningful to them.

The school provides each student with 1:1 access to a Google Chromebook, an Apple iPad tablet and a Windows laptop computer, which means learning can be specially tailored. In addition, we have specialist teaching and resources throughout for literacy, numeracy, languages, sciences, information technology, art, music, drama and PE.
