ISG Superintendent's Message

THANK YOU MESSAGE TO OUR PARENTS

As we close out the school year, I want to take a moment to thank you for your continued partnership and support.

It has been a year full of growth, learning, and meaningful moments across our campuses. Your involvement—whether through volunteering, attending events, or simply staying connected with your child’s learning—has played an important role in shaping the experience for our students and strengthening our school communities.

At ISG, we know that education is a shared journey, and we are grateful to walk that path alongside you. Thank you for the trust you place in us and for the support you’ve shown to our teachers, staff, and leadership teams throughout the year.

On behalf of all of us at ISG, I wish you a restful, safe, and enjoyable summer break as we anticipate the final week of school.. I would also like to thank the parent volunteers on our Board of Trustees, our Campus Councils, and our Parent Teacher Groups. Your contributions are so valuable and appreciated.

For those families returning, we look forward to welcoming you back in the fall.  For those families leaving ISG, we wish you a smooth transition and an amazing next adventure.

REMINDER: PARENT EMAIL ADDRESS UPDATE

We appreciate the feedback we have received this year from our community about some of the challenges of using ISG Google parent email accounts and the potential inefficiencies of having multiple email accounts to monitor.  We are taking efforts to streamline and minimize these challenges in accessing ISG generated information within our communication platform management system through phasing out the use of ISG Google parent email accounts.

To support this transition, we kindly request that all families update their preferred email address using this form no later than June 15. This updated email address will be crucial as we will use it to populate your contact information across our other essential school platforms, including Skyward, SchoolsBuddy, etc.

Please also be advised that ISG parents' Google accounts will be fully deactivated on July 31.

We understand that this may require an adjustment on your part, and we thank you for your patience as we make these changes. We also appreciate your prompt attention to updating your email address to ensure your family stays updated from ISG. This step will help us ensure a smooth transition and maintain effective communication with all our families.

ISG SUMMER LEARNING HUB

We’re excited to share the ISG Summer Learning Hub, designed to help students and families stay curious, connected and ready for the year ahead through engaging, self-paced resources.

We’re also happy to share a new collaboration between ISG and IAID, a globally recognized, well-reputed and trusted online platform for performing arts classes.

You can access the ISG Summer Learning Hub from the ISG Parent Hub. A new tab has been added: Summer Learning Hub.

This site is built to support flexibility and families are encouraged to explore the offerings that best match their child’s interests and needs. If you have any questions, please contact [email protected].

MSA ORAL REPORT

I’m delighted to share the MSA oral report presented by the MSA team that visited ISG in April. In their report the MSA team commended ISG for our:

Strong culture of inclusion and belonging. ISG excels in creating an environment where every student feels valued and connected.

Commitment to nurturing character and authenticity, specifically developing leadership and compassion.

Transformative relationships built on trust, collaboration and open-mindedness, strong commitment to student learning and the alignment in vision between the superintendent, the Board and ISG leadership, guiding the organization in this time of growth.

Beyond the commendations, the team cited recommendations throughout the report in overall areas as well as individual areas and for each campus.  As a school committed to continuous improvement and lifelong learning, this review offers valuable insights that help us grow and achieve even higher standards of excellence.  These recommendations from the MSA team visit are integrated with our own self-reflection in developing action steps for improvement.

This visit to ISG included four days of on-site observations, conversations and reflections for all campuses and in the central office, as part of our ongoing accreditation process. Their visit focused on several key areas that reflect our mission and strategic goals, including a review of our processes, the role of parental and community involvement and the strength of student voice in shaping the learning experience.

We are deeply grateful to the MSA review team for their thoughtful observations and engagement throughout the visit, and to our entire school community—parents, students and staff—for their contributions and warm welcome. A special thank you goes to our Teaching and Learning team for their outstanding preparation and leadership during this process.

We look forward to sharing the team’s more detailed report from feedback and the final results of the review as soon as they are available. Together, we continue advancing toward our goal of delivering a high quality education that supports academic success, wellbeing and belonging, and strives for professional excellence grounded in our mission of innovation and compassionate action.

SAN ENGINEERING AND SCIENCE FAIR (SANES)

Over the past year and a half, I’ve had the privilege of watching something remarkable take shape that went far beyond participation numbers or trophies.. It was about what happens when students are given the chance to lead, to create and to be heard. It’s about the spark of confidence that comes from knowing your ideas matter.

SANES started as a student-led idea, an ambitious vision brought forward by two 10th grade students at ASD, Jungho and Raahim. From the very beginning, they approached the challenge with thoughtfulness, determination and an impressive level of maturity.

On May 31, and after months of planning, SANES welcomed over 60 student entries from six schools across the Kingdom. Ten finalists were selected and presented their projects to a panel of judges representing respected institutions and companies including BHIG, SLB, KBR, PMU and FRESCO. Finalists set up booths and participated in two rounds of judging based on the ISEF rubric, sharing their research and answering thoughtful questions from our panel.

The participating schools were:

  • American School Dhahran
  • British School Dhahran
  • ISG Dammam
  • Nada International School
  • American International School-Riyadh
  • Jawada Private School

At the awards ceremony, we celebrated the hard work of every finalist and announced the top three winners:

  • First place: Hajra, British School Dhahran
  • Second place: Carlos, ISG Dammam
  • Third place: Nikhil, ISG Dammam

Congratulations to each of these students on their innovation and outstanding achievements!

Arab News covered the event, and we are grateful for the visibility it brought to this student-led event and to the students and their work. Our hope is that SANES becomes a cornerstone event for science and engineering students in the future, not only in the Eastern Province but across the Kingdom and beyond.

Looking ahead, we envision even greater participation from schools, greater involvement from universities and industry experts and expanded opportunities like student-led workshops and mentoring from professionals in the field. Our long-term goal is to build a sustainable platform that encourages curiosity, collaboration and real-world impact.

To Jungho, Raahim, the finalists and Mr. Will McConnel, assistant principal at ASD, the teaching and learning office and everyone who helped bring SANES to life, thank you.

SVS YEAR 6 LEAVERS ASSEMBLY

Last Thursday, we had the pleasure of celebrating our Year 6 leavers at Sara Village School. It was a special occasion that marked the accomplishments of our 12 graduating students and the important role this close-knit community plays within ISG.

The event was attended by members of our leadership team, including Andy Law from the ISG Board of Trustees, Yeimy Sandoval and Spin Bennett, along with David Bolton, Hans Ott, the Teaching and Learning team and myself. It was a meaningful morning of reflection and celebration.

Both David Bolton and I shared a few words with the community, and we were especially proud to honor Spin Bennett for his remarkable 22 years of service to ISG and the Sara Village community. His commitment and contributions over the years have left a lasting impact, and we are deeply grateful.

Congratulations to our Year 6 students and heartfelt thanks to the Sara Village School staff, families and students for making the event so memorable.
