STAFF APPRECIATION WEEK

This Teacher Appreciation Week, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to each of our educators across ISG.

Your passion, dedication and unwavering commitment to our students make a lasting impact every single day. I am grateful that you value and create environments where curiosity thrives, kindness is practiced and every child feels seen and supported.

Thank you for the energy you bring to the learning for your students, the care you extend to our community and the countless ways you shape a brighter future. You are the heart of our schools, and we are deeply grateful for all that you do.

We are pleased to share the Teacher Appreciation Week videos where we will get to know some of our wonderful teachers at ISG. At the end of each video are some special surprises.

For those staff at ISG who are not directly engaging in learning with students, know that your contributions are valued as you each ensure our learning environment is the best for our students to learn and our teachers to teach.  We are grateful you are a part of our team.

US EDUCATIONAL GROUP UNIVERSITY FAIR

As we near the end of the school year, the number of university visits start to decline but there are still a number of upcoming visits both in-person at the schools and some that will be held virtually.

On April 15 and 16, the College and Career Programs office organized a university fair which eleven universities with the US Educational Group (USEG) tour participated in. The fair was open to all ISG high schools/senior school to attend.

Students had the opportunity to learn directly from the university admissions specialists from the specific universities about programs, scholarships, admissions procedures for domestic and international students and so much more.

One of the highlights was to hear from the university representatives the praise they gave our students and they stated that ISG students were the type of students they wanted on their campuses; ISG students were engaged, listened intently and asked excellent questions.

Below are the universities that participated in the university fair. Students or parents who have questions on any of these universities are encouraged to reach out to their student’s counselor/6th form head.

  • Iowa State University

  • Oklahoma State University

  • Pace University

  • Pennsylvania State University

  • Sam Houston State University

  • San Francisco University

  • Suffolk University

  • University of Arizona

  • University of Hartford

  • University of New Hampshire

ISG COMPASSION CONFERENCE

This week, ISG proudly hosted its second annual Compassion Conference—a powerful celebration of student-led initiatives rooted in empathy and service.

Building on the success of last year, this year’s event showcased an incredible leap in depth and creativity, as students infused their projects with personal passion and purpose.

Through their thoughtful presentations, their projects reflected a genuine desire to make a positive impact, radiating compassion and kindness throughout our community.

The ISG Compassion Conference was inspired by the annual Compassion Summit, co-founded by ISG, which takes place in Amman, Jordan. We are proud to see how this tradition continues to grow.

I was able to chat with some of the ISG students sharing their compassionate action at this conference.  The discussions were rich and included how they might connect with ISG leadership to possibly take their projects to the next level of implementation to maximize impact for students.  I look forward to seeing these next steps.

You can explore each school’s impactful work in the articles below, under School Updates.

FLL ROBOTICS COMPETITION

ISG schools proudly participated in the FLL Robotics Competition held at Dhahran Aramco School on May 3, joining 19 teams from across the region in a day filled with innovation, collaboration and problem-solving.

Students from ASD, BSD,  ISG Dammam, and ISG Jubail represented their campuses with remarkable creativity and resilience across primary, middle and high school levels.

Highlights include:

  • BSD’s Year 5 team earned first place in the primary division as the youngest competitors.
  • ISG Dammam’s high school team took first place and the middle school team was named Rookies of the Year.
  • ASD’s high school team secured an impressive second-place finish.

We are incredibly proud of all ISG teams for their achievements and team spirit. More details can be found in each school’s updates below.

COMMUNITY WELLBEING: AIR QUALITY MONITORING

As our community is aware, we have experienced some significant Air Quality challenges in the Eastern Province recently.  ISG is  committed to the health and wellbeing of our students and staff, including related to air quality.

ISG actively monitors air quality levels at each of its four campuses using the IQAir website. In the event of severely poor air quality, ISG site-level administration, with the support of central leadership, promptly makes the decision to alter plans for outdoor activities to be conducted indoors.

In addition, the nurse’s office on each campus monitors the air quality and gives instructions to our schools based on the severity of the weather.

For students and staff who may be more sensitive to air quality, we provide cloth masks. However, we also encourage the use of high-quality masks, such as N95 masks, for students especially affected by the air quality.  We also support a family choosing to keep your child home if that is a better choice for their unique needs.

SVS STUDENTS PRESENT WITH CONFIDENCE AT ISG COMPASSION CONFERENCE

The SVS Eco Ambassadors attended the annual ISG Compassion Conference on the Dhahran campus. The students did an excellent job of showcasing the many sustainability projects that have taken place in the school over this year.

As the only primary aged students at the conference, the students held their own while confidently presenting and talking with middle and high school students along with directors and principals from across the ISG district as well as the superintendent, Rhonda Norris.

A big thank you to Mrs White and Mrs Bird for all their work supporting the students in sustainability at the school.

SVS STUDENTS SPEND A DAY OF ROMAN SPLENDOR AT BSD

On Tuesday, the Year 3 students from SVS stepped back in time for the much-anticipated annual Roman Day at BSD.

Dressed as noble citizens and fearless soldiers of Ancient Rome, the students brought history to life with enthusiasm and imagination. The day was filled with immersive activities, including marching formations that showcased their team spirit and energy.

The highlight of the event was a grand Roman feast— a banquet fit for an emperor! A heartfelt thank you to Sara Village School’s wonderful Year 3 parents for the creative costumes and delicious platters, and to Mrs Curran and Mrs White for their outstanding planning and dedication in making this day unforgettable.
